You know it’s a slow news day when this is a Top Story (from something that happened four days ago)…
WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) – Waterloo authorities say a nightclub doorman has been treated for minor injuries he received when a woman used one of her high-heel shoes to clobber him.
The incident occurred late Saturday night or early Sunday at the New World Lounge II.
A police report says two women paid a cover charge to go into the club. They stayed only a short time and then asked the doorman for a refund as they left. The doorman, 55-year-old Mark Burt, refused. Police say one of the women grabbed money that Burt was holding, but he grabbed it back. That’s when one of the women took off one of her shoes and hit Burt. He was treated at Covenant Medical Center. No arrests have been reported.

She’s got a pair of heels and she’s not afraid to use them!!! Jokes aside, I’ve always said I wouldn’t be afraid to use a heel if I ever needed to. But that’s more so if I’m getting attacked or something…no mad because I didn’t get my money’s worth at a bar.
Or should I say summer?! After touching in to the high 70s and 80s last week, it’s been hard to figure out how to dress when it’s down in the 50s again! As much as I enjoy tights, once I tuck them away for the season, it’s hard to dig them back out. There is something symbolic about it, I guess! :) That said, I didn’t have a choice this chilly week. Here is the outfit I put together, complete with a huge pop of color for my shoes. I tried on a black pair first, but it was just too winter-time for me.
What are some of your fashion tips and tricks going from Winter to Spring?

I’m a huge fan of Project Runway!! I loved Mondo Guerra when he was on Season 8, so I was very pleased to see he was one of the designers brought back for the Project Runway All Stars show.
Here is my favorite look from his first time down the runway:
Here is one of my favorites from the All Star season:
Already looking forward to seeing what clothes he produces and hope I can afford them! :)
Stay tuned for Season 10 of Project Runway this summer!
Ah, one of my favorite things about our house is this tree, right here:
We bought our house in the winter so we really had no idea how any of our yard would bloom in the spring. This was a very pleasant surprise to say the least!
As for spring fashion, well, today I went a little more summer. Our office building hasn’t turned off the heat yet and it’s sweltering!! ha
Shoes: Old Navy
Wow, St. Paddy’s Day was one for the ‘people watching’ books!! I was very unaware that it is a day for grown, attractive, women to dress like idiots. Let’s review:
I’m sure that bag is handy for the gym. I’m sure those shorts are great for running. I’m sure those tights are cute under a dress. Together? You look like a product of the Double Dare Slim Machine.
Ummm, I don’t think the man in the mint green jumpsuit is going to be too helpful lady. Those are impressive fur leggings. Did you dye them yourself? Also, incase you haven’t noticed yet, your underwear is on wrong; it’s supposed to go UNDER your shorts. Glad we got that covered.
Here is a lesson ladies. Knee-tight cotton socks are not meant to be worn under your pretty stilettos. That is why your feet hurt dumbass.
I mean, where do we begin? Yes, neon is trendy this Spring, but it doesn’t mean that every other 80’s trend is back.
So what about me you ask? I went for well…the normal approach with my green!!!
Tank Top: Gap
Skirt: Forever 21
PS-Sorry for the lack of quality with the photos, there were taken on my iPhone, while walking and trying to be discreet! ;)
Not to be confused with high-water pants! :) I wasn’t sure how these pants would fit on my curvy frame, but I tried them on anyways. I actually think, in some weird way, they work for me! They are super lightweight too, so I’ll be wearing these a lot on hot summer days!
Pants: Forever 21

Who doesn’t love a good flashback moment!? Here’s a look at one of the greatest St. Paddy’s Day celebrations I’ve had to date. It was in 2007 and I was visiting my girlfriend in Chicago. We ventured to Wrigleyville in search for some Irish fun. After quickly realizing it would take hours for our group of 10 to get in anywhere, we decided to make our home at a tequilla bar. GREAT CHOICE!
A real friend...
...dances WITH you on the bar!
I can’t really tell you what I’ve done on the St. Paddy’s days since…but there is always tomorrow! :)
PS-A special reason that I thought of this day, in reference to my blog and ‘all things shoes’…I’ll never forget the new boots I bought for this weekend get-a-way…they were SO uncomfortable!! Walking all over the city, standing for the parade…it was awful. This is where I learned to always test a shoe before wearing it extensively!!!
I love Nine West. I want to own every single pair of these. Seriously, don’t they just scream sunshine to you!?
That is all!
PS-they are all 25% off until Monday! Act now!
