Proud Aunt

I’m blessed with two older sisters that have resulted in two brother-in-laws, three nieces and three nephews. Being an aunt is fantastic. We are all quite busy in our own bubbles of life, but being a car ride away from everyone is a great thing.
My oldest niece, Maddie, has recently decided to compete for a Junior Miss pageant and needed to pick a community project. She’s choosing a couple and one of them is, ‘Shoes for Orphan Souls’, where she is hoping to collect and therefore donate 50 pairs of shoes. What a good lesson for a 10 year old; help those less fortunate. Moments like this make me proud and give me hope for the next generation of adults. Lessons start at a young age and the key is to remember them.
