A Bonus Day

Sadly, I can’t tell you what I was doing 4 years ago on Leap Day, but nonetheless I thought it was neat to think that today was literally a ‘bonus day’! How did you spend it? Nothing out of the ordinary here; went to work, had a couple meetings after work, and caught up with a friend I don’t see nearly enough. Productive and rewarding…just how every day should be!

I decided to honor an extra day of the year with some sparkle. I love this cascading sweater! It’s a great day-to-night top!

Sweater: TJ Maxx
T-shirt: Express
Corduroy Pants: Gap
Boots: Nine West
Earrings: Francesca’s

And just for fun, as I’m still playing around with photo editing softwares…this lil’ close-up (and a close-up of my fun earrings…$.98 on sale!!)!

Look of the Day – Copy Cat

I must confess, I totally copied my look today from a photo I saw of Taylor Swift. But in the world of fashion it’s not really copying…its ‘being inspired’! 🙂

Here is Taylor’s Look:

And here’s mine:
I loved the idea of spicing up an old winter sweater. I’m getting really sick of having to wear them, so it’s nice to pair it with something fun like a cute skirt!

Sweater: Gap
Skirt: Express
Tights: Steve Madden
Shoes: Steve Madden
Necklace: Cookie Lee

And the Winner Is…

Ahhh the Academy Awards. I studied for my midterm all weekend so I could relax and enjoy the show last night. It’s not perhaps the most entertaining television, when you compare it to something like the Grammy’s a couple weeks ago. And I have to agree with those that say ‘it’s always the same movie that wins all the awards’, it really does seem that way. That said, I am captivated from the Red Carpet (especially the Red Carpet) until the announcement of Best Picture.

My Best Dress Pick….Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford, hands down. Such perfection!

A very close runner-up in my eye was Michelle Williams. Lovely in Louis [Vuitton]!

Such a night of beauty. I was rooting for The Help to win Best Picture, but given how the night was going, I wasn’t surprised it went to The Artist. I’ll be renting that one when it comes out for sure. I’d like to see what all the buzz is about myself!

Until next time Red Carpet….until next time!

Look of the Day – It’s Warm, It’s Cool…It’s a VEST!

Like many days this Winter…it was a nice touch of Spring today, reaching almost 50 degrees! I enjoyed it by studying inside all day for my first grad school midterm, lucky me!

Never knowing how warm or cold coffee shops can be, I decided to sport a vest while I studied. It’s safe to say I used to be obsessed with vest. Puffy, fleece, patterned, cotton, hooded…you name it. For whatever reason, my collection has gone down the last couple of years, but I’ll always have a couple staples!

Vest: Gap
Black and Pink shirts: Old Navy
Jeans: 7 for all Mankind
Boots: Naughty Monkey
Scarf: Missoni for Target
Sunglasses: Ray Ban

Look of the Day – Rockin’ the Maxi

Well, after feeling under the weather yesterday…and dreading the weather we have today (hello gross snow/rain mix!), I decided to channel a little bit of my Spring Fever with my pretty blue maxi skirt for my “Look of the Day.” I have visions of this skirt with many other pieces, and can’t wait to try them all…but most involve short sleves and sandals. So my compromise today is a light sweater and pashmina, wrapped via “the pretzel”!

Sweater: Target
Scarf: Textiles
Skirt: Express
Boots: Steve Madden

Fat Tuesday Fun

Just kidding, no fun here! I’m sitting in class tonight. I’d rather have enjoyed an outdoor run or a Fat Tuesday cocktail after work…oh well, such is the life of a working student!

That said, I did sport some fun purple jewels today (okay fine, it was coincidence that it’s one of the Mardis Gras colors!).

I am loving my new ring from Cookie Lee!! Here is a close-up:
