Weekend Shoe Report

Another weekend here and gone. They go so fast, don’t they!? Here what I was up to…

My snakeskin studded BCBGs took me to the movies with my sister and friend. We went to The Lucky One. Your typical Nicholas Sparks book-to-film adaptation, but it was good nonetheless. Zac Efron was my favorite part! 🙂
My loyal running shoes helped me cruise through my first race of the season, a 10k here in Iowa City. Although it was a bit chilly at the start line, it ended up being a great day to run! My sister did it with me, she’s a huge motivator when it comes to running, and getting out there to do races. We treated ourselves to a little shopping afterwards, where else but to running stores!
My Vince Camuto’s made their debut this weekend! LOVE THEM! We headed to the Quad Cities where I attended a workshop with my niece. She is competing for Junior Miss Iowa coming up in June!!
My Coach tennis took me to, where else, my local coffee shop so I could study, study, study. It’s a nice and rainy day today, so it wasn’t so bad being stuck inside! I also popped over to a friend’s house, she was having a Jamberry party. This is the hot new thing apparently!? I ordered a couple different colors, so I’ll make sure to report how it goes!!

How was your weekend?! Make it a great week!

Chiffon = Comfy

I got an awesome deal on these pants from Von Maur over the weekend, $9!! I love how they can totally be dressed up, but when it comes down to it, they are just comfortable pants. I’ve always been a fan of chiffon!

I had to get a close up of these fun shoes from Aldo. They have a unique form and of course that little touch of sparkle that gives it something extra! 😉

So I was happy to score this awesome little hair pin/brooch at a local boutique for only $5! I spiced it up all sorts of color. Yay for Spring!

Weekend Shoe Report

I had a pretty quiet weekend, which is always a nice change of pace! My husband was off hunting with his brother and friend, so I had plenty of time to tidy up the house and stuuuudy for the GMAT. I swear, I am way more fun that I’ll prove to be these next few weeks!!

My lovely Nine West boots took me to happy hour with a couple of ladies that turned in to five hours, and therefore a full night, of fun and conversation! It’s probably a good thing our waiter was terrible…because those margs were good and our convo went way beyond that last drink served…I probably would have had to walk home!
My Coach tennies took me to a local coffee shop to study…study…and study. Although my day started with a work-out and a quick little stop at Von Maur where I nailed a cute little wedge! 😉
My ridiculously tacky sparkle clogs helped me get some chores done outside with my hubs! We love making our yard beautiful and are anxious to get things planted! Tis the season for landscaping!!
My running shoes look me on a about 9 miles worth of running this weekend. I hope they last me through my marathon in October!!

How was your weekend!? Make it a great week!!

Parrotheads

As I mentioned earlier this week, in the midst of my Tuesday on the Island fun, I was able to enjoy a little escape of reality this week and attend the Jimmy Buffett concert in Des Moines. He hadn’t performed in Iowa since 1985, so it was great to welcome him back with my fellow Parrotheads!

If you aren’t familiar with the Parrothead culture, in terms of fashion, let me enlighten you. There is no such thing as too much floral, too much flare, and too much on your head. Trust me, or feel free to Google it. So here we go…my Parrothead look.

My husband joins in on the fun too. Yes, he made this jacket himself and he is very proud of it, as he should be! He gets so many complements on it! A goodwill jacket and a torn up lei hot-glued on, so easy!

During our engagement, we deemed the “Jimmy Buffett attitude” as a key to a happy marriage. So far, it’s worked well for us. 🙂 This was our 4th show together and we plan on attending as many as we can while Jimmy still tours!
