Shades of Grey

No, this is not a post about the variety of shades between black and white in the fashion world…this is me admitting my slight obsession with the 50 Shades of Grey series.

Even worse, I’m admitting that it is the reason I’ve been so absent of blogging. EK! I promise, I’ll be back in full-force soon. I’ve just had such a busy (stressful!) month, that I really needed some time to decompress and escape from reality. Lucky me, these books are just the trick. Who’s with me out there!? More importantly, what do you think of the books!? Please share!

Come Sail Away

Summer kick-off is in full force, how are you spending your weekend?!

I’ve pulled out my FAVORITE Summer accessory. This is one of the best presents I’ve ever received, it was given to me from my Aunt-In-Laws and Mother-In-Law at my bridal shower a couple years ago.

Do you have a Summer staple?!

It’s In The Bag

Well, it’s about that time of year to switch over to a summer purse! I’ve loved my Christmas/Birthday present from my lovely friend Tori (how lucky and spoiled am I!?). But as the season’s change, so does my need of a functional summer bag. You know, something that can squeeze in a beach towel at any given moment! ūüėČ And for those that know me well know that this is a very exciting time for me. I literally get a high from organizing something new.

So here is what the inside of my bag looks like:

Yea, its maybe a lot. It’s safe to say when you play that bridal shower game, “Emergency Kit”, I usually win. Or put up a fight at least. A couple other things I usually have but don’t appear in the photo are gum and kleenex.

On the flip side, here is what I only really need with me at all times:

What can I say, us ladies are odd creators. We carry so much but need so little. Wow, a little life lesson there. ūüėČ

So tell me ladies, what’s in your bag and what can’t you leave the house without?

Weekend Shoe Report

I’m slacking a bit this weekend on my report…my apologies! But MAN…what a weekend. I had a rehearsal dinner for my husband and I’s friend Friday, took the GMAT test Saturday morning, went to said wedding Saturday evening and led a bike ride fundraising event today. And all of this after starting a new job last week! Wow…let’s just say it was an awesome weekend but I am glad it is over! ūüėČ

Isn’t my husband a handsome groomsmen!?! I sure think so! I loved my colorful little ensemble. Little did I know putting this bright look together that every other lovely lady there was set to wear their best LBD!

Nothing beats getting a room full of friends together. FUN.NIGHT!

A Bright Idea

I hinted that I was working on a project that involved the super fun spring/summer trend of neon and here it is!

You can click here to actually read the article and check out all the awesome photos and outfits. I fell madly in love with the Tolani dress! I not only wrote the article, but this time around, I was the stylists as well. SO.FUN. I hope you enjoy!

Since When Did I Start Liking Plaid?!

As I was playing with these photos from my outfit, I had this realization that I have been sporting some plaid lately (see here and here¬†and here). I’m unsure where this comes from…I think I have gone 8 years without wearing plaid. Perhaps its my inner cowgirl?! I have always had an¬†obsession¬†with “Cowboy Take Me Away” by the Dixie Chicks. Who I still miss terribly, by the way. But I digress…perhaps it’s just a silent trend out there that keeps catching my eye.

Boom! I love this look, for whatever reason, the light golds and whites against the black.

It’s the Same…But Different!

You know, one benefit of 4 seasons is changing up your look for the new season. Snow and nice…not so much, re-wearing clothes in a new way…bonus!

I paired this pretty blue maxi skirt with the same concept, but with shorter sleeves, a lighter scarf and no more boots, I am summer ready!
